Another beautiful Sunday, clear and cold. We went for a walk on a local trail, and ended up walking around one of our local parks. Dahu Park is a place that I would take the subway to go to, even when I was in Banciao. It has a lovely big lake, with lots of waterfowl, and a very pretty bridge.
This photo was taken from a trail in another local park in NeiHu near our apartment.
The trail winds up to the top of this hill.
Another photo taken along the trail.
Another photo from this trail. Jeff told me the meaning of this character, but I have forgotten what he said it meant.
Jeff is standing with his foot on top of the survey marker at the top of the hill. There was no view from the top of this hill.
The view of Taipei was better further down the trail.
Here is a view looking down at DaHu Lake. You can see how the subway track circles alongside of the lake.
This photo shows the reflection of the subway track in the water of Dahu Lake. The brown subway line that runs through NeiHu is above ground on an elevated track for most of its route. It is also the oldest section of subway in Taipei. I like it better than the underground sections of the subway because of the natural light that comes in the windows when you are riding on the subway.
Here are some photos of some of the waterfowl that you can usually see on the lake.
And the Sumatra photos are all sorted and labeled, so I can now start posting the blog entries for our trip to Indonesia!
